Komponist

Daniel Friedrich Eduard Wilsing

Daniel Friedrich Eduard Wilsing stammt aus Hörde, wo er am 21. Oktober 1809 geboren wurde. Seinen ersten Unterricht in Komposition erhielt er nach autodidaktischen Anfängen erst 1834 in Berlin. Ein "De profundis" erntete von Robert Schumann großes Lob. Durch eine geistige Erkrankung wurde Wilsing an einer weiteren Komponistenkarriere gehindert.

Seine Verschlossenheit und die Tatsache, dass er gegen Ende seines Lebens alle persönlichen Dokumente vernichtete, haben eine größere Bekanntheit verhindert. Wilsing, der neben genannter Psalmenkomposition und einem Christus-Oratorium hauptsächlich Klavierwerke geschrieben hat, starb am 2. Mai 1893 in Berlin.
