Vita

Daniela Grenz, geboren 1968 in Oberhausen; studierte Instrumentalpädagogik mit Hauptfach Akkordeon an der Musikhochschule Detmold bei Guido Wagner. Nach dem Examen künstlerisches Aufbaustudium am Hermann-Zilcher-Konservatorium in Würzburg bei Stefan Hussong; von 1995 bis 1998 Studium bei Prof. Elsbeth Moser an der Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hannover; Juli 1998 künstlerische Reifeprüfung. Mehrfache Preisträgerin bei nationalen und internationalen Solistenwettbewerben; 1994 Stipendiatin für die internationale Sommerakademie in Salzburg; 1998 Teilnahme an der "International class" in Porto Carras (Griechenland).

Seit 1996 Zusammenarbeit mit dem Kölner Rundfunk-Sinfonie-Orchester; Uraufführungen mit Werken u.a. von Henze, Mundry, Schnebel und Zender.

1997 Soloproduktion mit zeitgenössischer Akkordeonmusik im WDR, Köln; Januar 2000 Solistin beim Kölner Rundfunk-Sinfonie-Orchester in der Kölner Philharmonie; seit 2001 künstlerischer Lehrauftrag an der Universität zu Köln.

Daniela Grenz was born in 1968 in Oberhausen. She studied instrumental education with accordion as her major at the Dortmund College of Music, where her teacher was Guido Wagner. After graduating, she pursued further studies at the Hermann-Zilcher-Konservatorium in Würzburg under Stefan Hussong, then from 1995-98 she studied with Prof. Elsbeth Moser at the Hanover College of Music and Drama, graduating from that institution in July 1998. She has won several prizes in national and international soloists' competitions; in 1994 she was awarded a scholarship to the international summer academy in Salzburg, and in 1998 she attended the "International Class" in Porto Carras (Greece).

She has worked together with the Cologne Radio Symphony Orchestra since 1996, playing in first performances of works by, for example, Henze, Mundry, Schnebel and Zender. In 1997 she performed in a solo production of contemporary accordion at West German Radio, Cologne, and in January 2000 she appeared as soloist with the Cologne Radio Symphony Orchestra in that city's Philharmonic Hall.

Daniela Grenz has taught at Cologne University since 2001.
